Tucked away in the crater of an ancient volcano, Villa Baulieu is located in a viticultural and agricultural estate of 300 hectares, in the middle of a historical park of 22 hectares. Surrounded by vines, olive trees, almond trees, truffle oaks, fig trees and landscaped gardens, this family property dating back to the 17th century testifies to the history of the region.
The former manor of the Counts of Provence has had many well-known families succeeding each other as owners. At present, it is owned by the Guénant family which has been able to recruit the best artisans to undertake a magnificent restoration and has decided to open its doors for the public at large.
Only a few miles from Aix en Provence, at the gateway to the Lubéron, Villa Baulieu, an architectural gem, proposes a guest residence which is both intimate and exceptional. Here everything is marked by elegance . . . in all discretion. Its 11 rooms and suites with a sophisticated decoration narrate pages of the history of the place and unveil exceptional vistas of the Alpilles, the large wooded parkland and 140 hectares of vines of the adjoining wine estate.
Enchanted by the Provencal art de vivre, let yourself drift away into this universe of luxury and serenity!
We stayed there as a couple, in a marvellous setting, for an exceptional moment. The Villa is tucked away between vines of the Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, almond trees and olive trees from Provence.
The building, the rooms, the lounges and the gardens are decorated with refined taste. We flew to Marseilles and the Villa is only 30 minutes away. A pool to dream and shadowy morning walks made us forget the stress and all our concerns. Our advice would be not to forget to use the outdoor Jacuzzi on the tower of the château with a stunning view over the entire estate. We will certainly come back; I would warmly recommend this.”
Rare property in which one likes to stay. Attentive and discreet team, owners who welcome you in the best sense of the term in this “telluric” place.
Things are happening at Baulieu, go there to understand, you will not be disappointed.”
The most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. Amazing staff that went out of their way to make our stay special.
Wonderful facilities; we particularly enjoyed the Hamam and jacuzzi! An excellent home base to explore this beautiful area and its villages. I highly recommend visiting Les Baux-de-Provence, Rousillon and Gordes. Best meals at ‘La Petite Maison de Cucuron’ (Cucuron) and La Bergerie’ (Bonnieux).“
There are properties which are only known by word of mouth, Villa Baulieu is one of them!”
